Welcome! My name is Mark Robben and I’m a photographer based in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. Thank you for taking the time to visit my SkyLight Photography website, a place where I look forward to sharing my best work and the adventures that made them possible. At first glance my work might have a desert-centric feel, but with more than 30 years of photography under my belt, I’ve explored a variety of styles and genres. However, in the past 10 years or so I’ve become more in tune with my strengths as a photographer and more confident that my work has something to say. It's a period where I feel I've done my best work. That said, I try not get hung up on style. Good light is light good light and I try to take advantage whenever and wherever I can. Photographers, whether they like to admit it or not, are the sum of their influences. I'm certainly no different, but I've do my best to turn those influences into work I can call my own.
This is my first attempt at a website, and I hope it'll evolve as I become more confident the process. In the meantime, look around and let me know what you think.
